New Note Cards...

I’ve been away for a while working on my new note cards. I had such of fun time creating them; hopefully you have lot of fun choosing the most appropriate for what you have to say. Types play a major roll on my designs. I do believe that words reach to your soul in a special and powerful way that they stay inside your mind, supporting you or just making that special phrase present bringing you smiles or tears. You can get them at Vvsdesign.etsy.com

As a part of their design, I’m including my favorite movies quotes; some of them make me smile, some of them make me wondering…

Loving color...

Today I received an email from a good friend of mine who needs my “color coding / matching expertise” to help painting his kitchen… and then I thought of color… plain, bold, intense, brilliant and emotive color….

I bumped into Crate&Barrel catalog and what a surprise this purple wall was… how many of us would paint a living room in purple? Remove Barney the dinosaur from your head and you got this….

This image above is from Crate&Barrel catalog and I in love with the wall color …

I couldn’t help to post my bathroom pics; I just love this dark wall. In such of small space there was not much to do. I used white frames, colored towels and simple accessories... the result is in this photo below!

When choosing color be dared and provocative, let the color define your style and if by any chance you end up with Barney the dinosaur purple, there always be Big Bird yellow to cover up… just kidding!!

Selfportrait

This is a brand new space set to show not only my designs and artwork, but also inspirations and motivations. I have such of variety of interests that may confuse the clearest mind. One of my source of inspirations are books. I want to talk about a book that has me trapped since I turned the first page. The layout of Jaime Sabine… Una Mordida al Corazonby Carla Zarebska is wild and fascinating.

Each page is a rage of design elements, the only consistence and what tied the book together is the color blue. Some pages are written upside down (you should see the look I get while reading in the train), left to right or right to left, it also uses a minimum of 127 different type of fonts, styles and sizes, 47 different page orientation, propaganda, paper notes, woodcuts, sketches, photos, book covers, newspaper articles, stamps, you named this book has it. For some designers the book layout wouldn’t make sense at all, some others may find it captivating, for me, creatively speaking, is the perfect portrait of myself.
